Sr Survey Programmer

Salary: $50,000–$70,000
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $65,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.

● Ensure all survey development and related deliverables are produced with the highest quality and efficiency● Review and analyze all material provided by the client to understand the requirements of the project● Identify and raise questions about loopholes or inconsistencies between project requirements and provided material● Assist the project manager in preparing technical notes or questions needing clarification from the client● Proactively suggest improvements and promote best practices on question types, logic, quotas, survey structure with respondents and data quality in mind● Work with available resources to evaluate proposed timelines and propose changes to them when the need to revise expectations comes up● Assist the project manager to ensure client expectations are in line with what can be provided● Work directly with the project manager and senior team members to explore custom solutions needed for meeting unique client needs● Think outside the box to identify and solve problems that come up during planning, development, or fielding of surveys● Continue to broaden the understanding of our platform and its offerings and proactively escalate to the lead programmer when in doubt● Maintain and improve the level of quality and efficiency of projects through code reviews, process improvements, and new technology● Maintain and revise internal and external technical requirements documentation to keep them current● Jump into action when project quality and/or timing is compromised to work on quick recovery and minimize damage● Serve as senior escalation for junior programmers, project managers, and vendors guiding them on resolving issues, answering questions, and re-enforcing processes● Work with the lead programmer to analyze incidents, implement preventative measures, and introduce new processes and workflows● Promote new tools and technologies that can be used to help the department to overcome obstacles or limitations● Be innovative to create scripts/tools to help with client requests and department needs● Assist with training and evaluating new and junior programmers by creating guides and conducting training● Be a technical liaison between the Programming/Development/SRE and Clients/Sales/Project managers● Set a positive example for team members and foster a good team environment● Strive to be an expert in the field of online market research and all things surveys● Display ownership, accountability and pride in the work you deliver● Carry ownership of projects and provide support beyond regular work hours when needed● Perform other related duties as required
● Excellent communication skills● Excellent ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities● Excellent understanding of marketing research and its data● Minimum of 3 year experience programming surveys on the Forsta Suveys (Decipher) platform● Strong problem-solving skills, including an ability to “think outside the box”● Excellent understanding of logic and ability to identify errors● No record of formal disciplinary action in the past 6 months● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience● Strong programming aptitude and knowledge of the below (minimum of 2 years working experience through a job/freelance work/personal projects): o XML o Python o Linux and Bash o HTML, JavaScript, and CSS o JS libraries & frameworks such as jQuery, moment, Angular, React o CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap, Materialize o REST APIs
