Sr. Research Analyst - Handset

GfK is searching for a Senior Research Analyst to join GfK Boutique’s Handset and Semiconductor research team. He/she will work on a small international team conducting research on the global handset manufacturers and supply chain companies. GfK analysts prepare and deliver such fundamental research to investors around the world. GfK’s research analysts can expect:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicating our messages to clients, top tier hedge funds and mutual funds. You will be a lead client facing analyst covering multiple companies and engaging in challenging two way conversations with our clients.
• Analyzing the fundamental health of the handset industry and its ecosystem using GfK’s proprietary POS demand data
• Comparing the signals coming from our data with other external data points, such as company reports, news stories, etc
• Creating bi-weekly research reports on the Handset and Wireless component sectors
• Being a part of a highly interdependent international team with members based in Boston, London, & Hong Kong.

Experience and Skills:

• 1-3 years of work experience as an analyst, with at least one year of experience in a client facing role
• Solid analytical skills and an appetite for knowledge. You do not need any industry specific knowledge, just the desire to learn about the markets and companies we cover
• Strong oral and written communication skills. As mentioned above, we work in a highly collaborative, yet highly geographically dispersed environment, so effective communication is critical.
• Willingness to travel
• In addition, we need to be able to convey our messages to investor clients as clearly and concisely as possible. Analysts need to be able to think on their feet when challenged, and be responsive to their needs.
• Teamwork. We are all working together towards a common goal and thus, teamwork is essential.

Education: BA/BS from a top-tier university
