Senior Consumer Insights Specialist

The Senior Consumer Insights Specialist plays a key role as the voice of the consumer to help the organization make fact-based, consumer-driven decisions that will positively impact the business, products, and the brand. Consumer is at the center of BISSELL core values.Research projects span a variety of business issues including positioning, needs identification, concept evaluation, creative development, copy testing, competitive product testing/shelf set evaluations, customer/shopper understanding, and habits and practices studies. Will assist Consumer Insights Manager with larger projects and over time will take on some smaller projects independently. Research helps the organization, for example, design products that meet real consumer needs, successfully market new products, and strengthen advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with manager, marketing, and other functions to support quantitative and qualitative research methods that answer key business questions. Will coordinate research projects in support of a category, product, or business team.
  • Drives for clear research objectives, decisions from research results, and decision criteria to meet business objectives.
  • Supports multiple projects at any one time, and works within budget. Includes global research.
  • Tracks contracts and invoicing management for projects.
  • Analyzes basic research data and interprets results in order to make a positive impact.
  • Supports communication of research results via working sessions, presentations, and/or written reports.
  • Performs work with some direction.
  • Supports use of new, innovative research approaches needed to make an impact.
  • At times also works with other functions including Sales, Consumer Design, Product Development, Marketing Communications, and Project Management.
  • Keeps consumer insights knowledge up to date and fresh.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

Required Experience/Education

  • Degree minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Specific concentration: Market Research or related degree
  • Experience level: About 3+ years of business experience

Skills Required

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Must be self-sufficient and comfortable with using Microsoft Office business software programs like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
