Research Director

Salary range: $90k-$120k + benefits
A remote position for persons with 7+ years of demonstrated quantitative and qualitative market research experience. The Director reports to the Head of Insights and is responsible for the autonomous management and execution of projects from beginning to end, delivering quality data on time and on spec.
Market Research:

Independently run projects from turning a proposal to a survey/guide through writing and presenting findings

Develop screeners, guides, and questionnaires from study objectives

Questionnaire programming
-
Qualitative platform programming
-
Moderation of interviews, focus groups, online diaries/boards, ethnographies, etc.

Developing crosstab and banner plans
-
Creating code frames for open-end response coding analysis of study data and charting/graphing
-
Writing reports including accurate headlines and concise summaries
-
Presenting results to clients, addressing client issues, speaking with knowledge about the process and related details
Account Management

Building relationships with clients, including expectation management
-
Schedule and manage client meetings
-
Keep client team informed of study progress and all project details

Identify opportunities to grow relationships with clients

Work with Head of Insights to craft proposals and sell projects to new and existing clients
Project Management:

Direct and manage teams of Managers and Associates

Responsible for successful management of internal qualitative and quantitative processes

Selection and management of outside vendors and internal 10K Human recruits

Provide input towards viable solutions for project issues with senior staff consultation

Monitor project progress, and assist with client communication

Project cost/profitability review
Methodology Development

Research, design, and implement new research methodologies (e.g., qualitative interview techniques, segmentation approaches, etc.)

“Managing up:” as this position interfaces with senior/executive-level clients and co-workers, you must be able to perceive their needs and communication styles and adapt to them. This requires confidence and initiative in dealing with more senior partners
