The Qualitative Research Associate works primarily with a collaborative quantitative and qualitative project team across a several client communities.  For each client community, this is an opportunity to understand clients’ businesses from multiple angles as the research projects tend to cover all aspects of their short and long-term initiatives.

Projects tend to cover everything from innovation and early-stage concept testing to positioning, messaging, and packaging, etc.  The goal of projects is to deeply understand and immerse in our clients’ industries to ultimately help them understand their core segments/targets to help them make better decisions.  Our communities and panels provide our clients with targeted respondent sources to conduct both quantitative and qualitative studies across tactical and strategic initiatives. 

The Qualitative Associate will support the qualitative Communities and Panels team and learn all aspects of coordinating and executing online (or in-person) qualitative research projects, from assistance with research design, moderation, through written analysis/reporting, as well as contributing to weekly client calls/updates.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Day-to-day completion of assigned qualitative research project components:
  • Learn and assist in the development of qualifying screeners and discussion guides to address research objectives.
  • Learn and assist in monitoring active research to ensure respondent and project objective viability, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Learn and assist in the execution of all aspects of qualitative projects, including:  field coordination, discussion/activity programming, moderation, analysis, and building a report.
  • Support in the development of final reports including:  theme building, quality checking, data analysis. 
  • Attend client meetings and presentations.
  • Update and track projects against research budgets.
  • Production tracking – once study has begun, confirm participant information (they are who they say they are), assist in the re-review of screeners, if needed.
  • Taking immediate corrective action to keep projects on track and informing the immediate manager of any possible delays or problems.
  • Work closely with clients, Analysts, and Operations team on various aspects per project.
  • Learning core online qualitative research platforms to be able to seamlessly operate and troubleshoot for individual projects.
  • Assist in programming new activities.

Other Duties:

  • Proactively volunteer to provide team support in down time.
  • Work with qualitative analysts in managing and meeting the overall community goals, objectives, and client management.
  • Learn various online qualitative research methods.
  • Exhibits standards for quality, professionalism, and positivity.
  • Special projects as required.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes.
  • Regular attendance.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-2 years supplier-side experience in qualitative research.
  • Highly organized and exceptional communication skills.
  • Resourceful self-starter with an inquisitive mind and a passion for consumer research.
  • Enthusiastic, engaged, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to juggle numerous concurrent projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (particularly PowerPoint and Excel).

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s in Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, or other related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
