Market Research Consultant

KJT Group  | Rochester , NY, US

Fully Remote, (USA Only)

Salary: $70,000–$90,000

The Research Consultant will contribute to or lead the design, execution, and analysis of healthcare-focused research studies for assigned client accounts while also contributing to corporate initiatives. This role involves developing client relationship skills and accountability in project deliverables, requiring a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on research skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research & Project Responsibilities

  • Co-creates with project leads the design of survey instruments and discussion guides that align with client objectives, demonstrating a solid grasp of survey design principles, language, and flow.
  • Executes a variety of advanced research methods including quantitative techniques (e.g., conjoint analysis, segmentation) and qualitative approaches (e.g., structured messaging, journey mapping) with minimal support.
  • Independently analyzes and creates comprehensive reporting plans that accurately reflect findings.
  • Collaborates with project leads to generate insightful reports/presentations, with a focus on clear storytelling and actionable recommendations.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of company/department processes, ensuring productive collaboration and consistently high-quality deliverables.

Develop Client Service Skills

  • Develops active listening with clients to ensure a clear understanding of their business objectives and long-term strategies.
  • Participates in thought-provoking, consultative discussion regarding engagement objectives and tactical project scope with project leads.
  • Proactively identifies and escalates client/project risks and opportunities with project leads.

Self-Leadership

  • Builds upon feedback and experience to set clear, attainable goals and action plans to strengthen individual and team performance.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve client outcomes.
  • Employs critical thinking to assess challenges and resolve client or project-related obstacles independently.

Key Competencies for Success:

  • Excellent written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Comfort in a client facing role, with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly.
  • Strong analytical, writing, editing, and data visualization skills, ensuring data is communicated in a clear and easily digestible manner.     
  • Demonstrated experience with market research solutions, tools, and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while navigating changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work outputs.
  • Technologically adept, with a strong aptitude for learning new platforms and tools.      
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% of time
  • Fluent in English.                                                                                                               

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (business, psychology, economics, mathematics, social sciences)
  • 2+ years of professional service experience in a qualitative or quantitative-focused market research role.

Information Security Management

The person in this role is responsible for compliance with the KJT Group Information Security Policy and all other policies, processes, and documentation related to information security within KJT Group.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:

  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office, including specific strength in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with the Adobe Acrobat Suite of tools.
  • High degree of comfort with videoconferencing and desktop-sharing software (i.e., Zoom, Teams).
  • Willingness to learn and use new platforms/programs.
