Account Manager

Summary

An opening for a key player on our team in a growing market research company. Work with and be trained by the Founder and President to learn best practices, business development strategy, philosophy, principles, and all aspects of a growing business. There is an opportunity for tremendous growth in this role for the right person.

Position Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year college degree

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Based in the Syracuse region

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business, research, or a related field

Job Duties

This position intends to free up the President’s time and systemize practices to help position the company for growth.

Account/Customer Service

  • Shadow the President/take notes during business development meetings to start

  • Observe and mirror the President’s approach to responding to inbound leads

  • Log meeting notes into our CRM and prepare proposals, cost sheets, etc.

  • Generate contracts for eSignature and introduce newly landed studies to the team

  • Grow into leading business development calls and inbound lead projects

  • Manage the live chat on the Drive Research website to answer questions

  • Ask questions in email and over the phone to help vet qualified prospects for bidding 

  • Manage and update new contacts, deals, initial outreach, and activity in our CRM

  • Work closely with the rest of the sales division and marketing team for support

  • Draft ideas and write blog posts for the website to generate page traffic

  • Participate in virtual/in-person networking events to grow the Drive Research brand

  • Remain active on LinkedIn to promote the Drive Research brand

  • Other duties as requested (or inspired by your interests)

Administrative

  • Assist the President in scheduling meetings with prospects

  • Assist with vendor onboarding and paperwork for new clients

  • Assist with payroll review and approval with our HR/payroll partner

  • Assist with focus group facility rentals, A/V, client servicing on-site in Syracuse

  • Assist with invoicing and follow-up for client project payments

  • Management of our expense platform and approving vendor bill payments

  • Assist in sending thank you letters to clients after completing projects

  • Other administrative and assistant-level tasks for the President

  • Workplace flexibility: Our office and focus group facility is located at 6702 Buckley Rd. in Syracuse, yet we offer some remote flexibility for the position. We embrace and encourage you to work wherever you are most productive. We entice our employees to get together in-person with on-site happy hours, parties, and scheduled lunches. Each employee develops their own mix of in-office work versus remote work. However, most staff works remotely from home in 2024 but there will be in-person requirements as part of this role that are mandatory in Syracuse.

  • Extensive paid holidays: Drive Research is closed on the following holidays (many of which your friends will be jealous of): New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, and Christmas Day (December).
