My meme was inspired by the results of a recent survey in which we asked researchers about challenges and the future of research. Although there has been a lot of talk on social networks (mostly from providers) about what the future holds, it seems corporate researchers are far less convinced. Many expressed complete skepticism about some of the new techniques and many felt it was a case of the squeaky wheel getting all the grease. Some respondents seemed downright angry at – what they feel – is all hype and no substance.
