3 Paths to Planogram Optimization During the COVID-19 Crisis

Do you know the best way to optimize a planogram? EyeSee recently ran a study on planogram optimization and SKU rationalization during the COVID-19 crisis. The research was done through virtual shopping and conducted on over 1,000 respondents in four grocery categories: coffee, chocolate, cereal and yogurt.
We identified three optimization paths retailers might take when faced with the elimination of certain SKUs:
- Display the same number of facings for the top-tier brands with fewer items in the line (so fewer SKUs).
- Replace the lost top-tier SKUs with more facings of private label SKUs
- Replace the lost private label SKUs with more facings of top-tier SKUs.
